Project for a Unique Restutant

BAPS! Started as an idea, many years ago, between two best friends with a passion for food. After years of discussing it, the two best friend’s timelines fell in sync, and BAPS! was born. The two best friends, Brad and Brad were so in sync that they could complete each other’s sentences. Their mindset in food is the same. Quality, flavor, freshness. Brad Solley and Brad Pelletier founded a restaurant – BAPs

2 Part Answer

That’s actually a two-part answer. The first part is easy. Both Brad’s have the same first and middle name, spelled the same way. When you add our last names, you get the initials that create our business name: Brad Allen Pelletier Solley.

You should visit BAPS at: 2680 S. Escondido Blvd. Escondido, CA 92025

Install

Signs for San Diego designed make and installed their signs. This is far from our biggest project, but it is really very special because of the 2 guys that founded this restaurant. It may help to examine the process.

The sign is a channel letter set. Signs for San Diego started with the founders. The vision for the restaurant is captured in the sign and follows through the front door, and throughout the restaurant. We started on “paper” with a crisp design. From there it was re-engineered for manufacturing with a full set of construction drawings.  These were turned into a permit package and submitted to the city for approval.  Once the permit was issued, the drawings were released to our production floor.

It started with raw sheet aluminum, we take this mill finished sheet stock and use a CNC router to shape each letter twice: ones for the back of the letter and once for the front.  Then we use a very specialized machine called an autobend channel letter bender. This machine shapes the sides of each letter. It is then assembled, painted, wired with LEDs and formed into the finished sign. We are taking raw material and transforming it into the vision of BAPS. It is the realization of a business tool to achieve the “Brad’s” dream.
