The San Diego Convention Center dominates the convention and trade show hosting world in San Diego and is the 22nd largest in the country. It is located San Diego Bay in the heart of a vibrant, walkable downtown surrounded by more than 13,500 hotel rooms. The Convention Center has 615,700 sq. ft of exhibit area in configurable halls and can hold up to 135,000 people at a time. Conventions can use a part of or all the space. There are about 90 trade shows and conventions a year; the biggest convention is Comic-Con.
With 90 shows a year, messaging constantly needs changing, which the static signs we replaced could not accommodate. Digital signs can change instantly and display multiple messages by rolling each through in seconds. They allow the convention center to now guide huge numbers of people more efficiently to their event as a crowd control device.
