JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:  Under the direction of the Owner of Signs for San Diego, the Sales and Project Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of activities. You may also be interested in Signage Office Manager. Most of these involve finding, closing and monitoring sales and customer’s needs through the in-house process. Customers need help and communication to buy signs and have them delivered to their satisfaction. The types of customers targeted by the SPC are customers that have repeat order potential such as :

  • Shopping Malls, Strip malls
  • Construction companies
  • Marketing agencies
  • Commercial interior designers
  • Property Managers (Retail and Industrial)
  • Facility Managers/Director of Maintenance
  • Regional Franchise Managers/Developers
  • Universities and Hospital

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales:  The point of the position is to increases sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the owner and the staff to develop customers. The goal is to get customers that love us and place profitable repeat orders.
  • Build a consultative relationship with our clients
  • Involve the company team, specifically coordinate with design, production and installation to enable us to service the customer’s needs in a timely way.
  • Work very closely to develop key accounts, and work with Key Accounts.
  • Focus of products we can make and deliver (Channel Letters is strip malls as an example)
  • Collaborate with clients, in-house personnel, outside fabricators, and installers to recommend the best possible alternative for our client’s needs.
  • Work independently on sign projects with the full resources of our company at your disposal.
  • Handle the sales, administrative and tracking of your jobs.
  • Pitch in and help others where needed, but default into developing customer sale
  • Pursue leads that are given to you, generated from our web-site marketing efforts.

Activities and Skills

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Excellent phone skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, presentable, enthusiastic, and have an honest, hard-working attitude.
  • Reliable transportation is a must. Travel in and around San Diego will be required.
  • Live in the greater San Diego area, the closer to Oceanside, the better.
  • Some reasonable degree of computer knowledge as you will need to use SignVox and write proposals
  • Organized, intelligent, and a willingness to go beyond what is asked of you.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through with what is asked of you in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects
  • Ability to research the internet for solutions to requirements and problems that you may encounter.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL “PLUSES”, BUT NOT CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FINAL SELECTION:

  • Sales experience or customer service exposure
  • Sign company employment in sales, production or management.
  • Graphic skills (computer and/or visual)
  • Good with your hands and understanding of how materials and installations go hand in hand.
  • Previous business experience

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE:

The real requirement is an attitude,  aptitude and skill, with a sense of urgency. A good driving record (A valid driver’s license). These qualities may be demonstrated with an AA or Bachelor’s degree in a graphic design, fine arts or similar study area. It may also be demonstrated with experience

Experience: Generally 3 – 7 years is sales, marketing or product management

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret client documents, graphic files and drawings. Ability to work independently, safely and quickly. Spanish skills may be helpful

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with general math, sizes, font scaling, project art board scaling, proportional letters, and other basic math used to make and size signs. Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and Power Point) and Adobe illustrator is helpful. The key requirement is to design with the correct scale and proportion.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid, logical conclusions.  Ability to interpret a variety of technical and business information related to the requirements of this job.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Requires the ability to operate various printing and sign making equipment to include a HP printer, Graphtec plotter, Royal laminator, small tools such as exacto knifes, straight edges, heat guns, grommet presses, squeegees, and small hand tools. Requires good negotiation skills.   This position requires travel during the day to install sites. No overnight travel is expected.

Ability to load a 30 pound roll on vinyl in the printer. The ability to install inside and outside, on a ladder, the ground or in the bucket truck. To do surveys at the customer site, and use basic hand tools.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is a combination of office, industrial space and customer site with the majority being office. You are responsible to keep any music at low levels and keep a clean well kept desk .
