When businesses need paint, it generally is building painting, or car repaint. This is not what we are offering. We paint small parts like letters for many other sign shops. PPG is the most common Automotive paint around. In the PPG behemoth there is a special division, or subsidiary called the Matthews Paint Company. How this normally works depends.
- If these are small letters, bring your box and we will prepare these, prime and paint. Then they go back into the box and give it back to you. How much does it cost? The prep time and the cost of the paint pls a little makes this work. Have flat cut outs< a Pan, a plate – bring it on
An issue you may experience when buying paint is the color. For example “Red” comes in 30-40 variations. How does one specify “red” (or blue, or brown, or any other color)
You may be thing of RGB (Red, green, Blue) but RGB is for computer screens and not for paint. If you are a printer, then CMYK may come to mind. But in the paint world, PMS or Pantone is the system or method you want. PMS colors (also called Pantone) has been around for half a century. There are books full on PMS colors and may have conversions from RGM or CMYK. Or find the color you like and ask for the PMS number

- Need restoration? We have done a lot of little monuments, we strip these down to the metal, make repairs and then prepare for painting. Sometimes this involved making new parts any panels, often we use a little “Bondo” and fix small dents. Then the Matthews topcoat is applied.
Understanding finishes. The two most common finishes are Matte and Satin. Matte finish – have a low gloss, but Matte resists dirt and covers surfaces better. It is the common finish for letters. Satin finish – have a smoother and more reflective surface. It is more common for bathroom walls but used for areas where reflectivity is needed. Clear coat is exactly what it sounds like, it is paint without color and is common when maximum reflectivity is wanted.
