Thrive IV CNC

When businesses need small parts, letters, logos, and other items they normally buy these complete. But what happens when you want something unique? A special font, a specific size, or other attribute you cannot get from a catalog. For wood, aluminum, and plastics, these are cut with a router, A computer Controlled Router. We call these “Flat Cut Outs” or FCOs

Multicam Router

  • At Signs for San Diego, we use a multicam CNC router. It is accurate and with a vector file it can cut thinner sheets (1/32 to 1 ½ inches. We need your file, and we convert this into a “vector file” that is a line file. The file types that are normally used are AI, Eps, DFX or enhanced PDF.

How this normally works depends.

  • We use four-by-eight-foot sheets. These come from distributors, and we can buy the material through distribution, or you can bring the material or drop ship directly to us. We normally get the files via email; our designer takes this and makes a “Proof Sheets” for your approval. Once approved we take this same “Proof Sheet” into a vector file and then a CNC file. This becomes the cutting instruction. We put the sheet on the router table, load the computer, and it cuts the material.

It is quick and clean. Have letters, or shapes you need? Want to give it a shot? Give us a call. Signs for San Diego, [email protected], 760-730-5118
