ADA signs Handicapped Signage

Handicapped signage required to comply with the ada requirements does not need to be blue and white. With custom sign colors your ada signs and parking signage can be attractive and interesting

ADA Signs typically use stock colors. These are made in volume and are limited. With few colors available, a unique look and feel is difficult to achieve. Signs for San Diego uses all these stock colors, but what if you want a unique color for your branding?  Need a custom sign color with a Pantone PMS perfect color match? There is a way!

Signs for San Diego starts with a stock clear sheet of plastic. There is a special sheet with non- glare surface. But it is clear, and not the color you want. In the world of paint, nearly any color can be mixed. Signs for San Diego has a full paint system, with thousands of dollars of base colors, reducers, hardeners, and other additives we can do anything. We use this and paint the back side on the plastic sheet. And Wala, we have a stock sheet of the right color and the right material.  This is called a second surface treatment. The process to make the rest of the ADA sign:

We take the painted sheet and cut it to size,

A 1/32 inch “applique” sheet is applied and cut. This is done with a cutter that leaves the cut beveled perfect to meet the ADA requirements

Many colors are available for the applique, but not all the paint treatment can be used here as well. So, at the base and the letter color can be tuned in for a custom sign that is unique.

Using a fade and color to make the Unit ID interesting

Many colors are available for the applique, but not all the paint treatment can be used here as well. So, at the base and the letter color can be tuned in for a custom sign that is unique.

The exact size holes are drilled

Raster Balls are inserted to make the braille required ADA

The sign is cleaned up and double-sided tape applied to the back for easy installation.

Then it is ready for install
